The Arctic has fascinated Nixon since she was a child. A place of many contrasts; fierceness and fragility, harsh and delicate, dark and light, to truly capture and understand the essence of the Arctic is a feat within itself.

Nixon aspires to capture these many layers of the Arctic and the changes that are being seen today. The Arctic is one of the most rapidly changing regions on our planet, and Nixon believes that amplifying the importance of the Arctic through an artistic lens may help us connect with it, even when we live thousands of miles away. No matter were we live on this planet, we feel the affects of the Arctic every day.
