About SPEAK

SPEAK mission is to support and celebrate the voices of all young women and girls.

SPEAK’s Vocal Empowerment Programs are for individuals, including mentors, teachers, and community workers, working with youth.

Spearheaded by founders Beth Osnes and Chelsea Hackett their program has brought performance art to the frontlines of civil action.

Nixon started working for Osnes and Hackett during her years at graduate school, where she helped document the incredible work of this community. This collaboration has flourished across other projects such as The Butterfly Affect, Side-by-Side and other applied performance and creative climate communication narratives
