Science & Education

Connecting science through creative communication, public outreach, and educational initiatives

Science & Education

I am science communicator by trade. My formal training is in Education: Learning Sciences and Human Development and for several years have worked with scientists across the globe to bring their life’s work into the classroom or pubic spaces. My experience in polar research and expedition leadership also lends itself to logistics in the field. To explore projects where I have closely worked with scientists in the field, click here.

Film and Photography

I have produced many film and photography assets for the sake of science communication. These assets have been used for educational documentaries, curriculum support, journalism, museum exhibitions, photos for publication, social media, books, marketing, and so much more. These deliverables are various and custom built based on your needs. Explore my portfolio, science communication, to see what photography assets can be created.

Informal Curriculum

During my time at the CIRES Center for Education, Engagement, and Evaluation (CEEE), I helped create numerous. In addition I designed many products that helped push branding and visual initiatives through graphic design, short films, and more.

The best scope of my work is The Drifting North Polar Planetarium Experience. The experience invites students to explore what it was like to participate in the MOSAiC expedition to the North Pole. The unit includes five lessons, five activities, and a 30-minute film.

Art and Design

In addition to my skills in photography and film, I work as a professional graphic designer, helping brands define their aesthetics and visual narratives as well as science communication illustration. My illustrations have been in best selling novels, children’s books, museum exhibits, and curriculum. For more of my works, please email me.

In-field Logistics

As a guide in the polar regions and Alaska, I have commercial grade certifications to support science in the field in addition to any communications support. To learn more, email me.
